Recent: Call for Recruitment of Researchers – 2026 Intake
The Cameroon Initiative for Research and Innovation (CIRI) is expanding its national research network and invites applications from motivated individuals who are passionate about scientific inquiry, innovation, and evidence‑based development.
CIRI seeks to build a strong community of researchers who will work collaboratively on national and international research projects, contribute to knowledge production, and support innovation across key sectors in Cameroon.
We are recruiting researchers in two categories:
- Experienced Researchers (Direct Recruitment)
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Master’s degree or PhD in any recognized field of study (social sciences, natural sciences, health, engineering, agriculture, economics, technology, etc.)
- At least 2 years of research experience in academia, industry, NGOs, or government institutions
- Evidence of research publications, thesis/dissertation, or significant project work
- Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research
- Strong analytical, writing, and communication skills
- Commitment to ethical research standards and teamwork
Added Advantage
- Peer‑reviewed journal publications
- Grant writing experience
- Experience supervising students or junior researchers
- Participation in national or international research projects
Status After Selection
Successful candidates are directly integrated into the CIRI Research Network and may lead or contribute to ongoing research initiatives.
- New & Emerging Researchers (Training + Certification + Insertion)
This pathway is designed for individuals new to research or early in their academic journey.
Selected applicants will undergo CIRI’s Research Training & Certification Program before joining the network.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following:
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in any discipline
- Strong interest in research, innovation, and problem‑solving
- Basic writing and communication ability
- Willingness to undergo training, mentorship, and supervised research work
Training Includes
- Research methods & design
- Academic writing & referencing
- Data collection & analysis (quantitative + qualitative)
- Ethics & responsible research
- Proposal and grant writing
- Publication preparation
Status After Training
Graduates receive:
- CIRI Research Certification
- Official integration into the CIRI Research Network
- Opportunity to join ongoing projects or propose new research topics
General Responsibilities (For All Researchers)
Researchers recruited into CIRI will be expected to:
- Conduct high‑quality research aligned with CIRI’s thematic areas
- Collaborate with local and international research institutions
- Participate in training workshops, seminars, and conferences
- Publish research findings in reputable journals
- Contribute to national development through evidence‑based solutions
- Support capacity-building programs for younger researchers

🧪 Research Assistant (Volunteer)
Location: Remote Commitment: Part-time / Flexible Duration: 3–6 months (renewable) Responsibilities: Assist lead researchers in data collection, entry, and analysis. Support literature reviews and documentation of findings. Participate in fieldwork and community-based research activities. Help prepare reports, presentations, and publications. Requirements: University student or graduate in science, economics, or social studies. Strong analytical and writing skills. Interest in research and innovation. Ability to work independently and in teams.
📚 Academic Support Volunteer
Location: CIRI Academic Office Commitment: Part-time / Remote options available Duration: 3–6 months Responsibilities: Support students with thesis formatting, referencing, and proposal writing. Assist in organizing academic workshops and training sessions. Provide feedback on academic drafts and research outlines. Requirements: Background in education, linguistics, or academic writing. Familiarity with citation styles (APA, MLA, etc.). Excellent communication and mentoring skills.
🧑🔬 Lab & Field Support Volunteer
Location: CIRI Labs / Field Sites Commitment: Full-time or part-time Duration: 3–6 months Responsibilities: Assist in laboratory experiments and field research. Maintain equipment and ensure safety protocols. Record observations and support data analysis. Requirements: Background in biology, chemistry, or environmental science. Attention to detail and willingness to learn. Ability to work in outdoor or lab settings.
💻 ICT & Digital Innovation Volunteer
Location: CIRI ICT Department Commitment: Part-time / Remote options available Duration: 3–6 months Responsibilities: Support website updates and digital content management. Assist in developing e-learning platforms and digital tools. Maintain data systems and troubleshoot basic tech issues. Requirements: Background in IT, computer science, or digital media. Experience with WordPress, databases, or coding is a plus. Problem-solving mindset and attention to detail.
