Lodge Front Desk Clerk

Location : All GLC Properties

Position Summary — The Lodge Front Desk Clerk accommodates GLC Lodge guests with reservations, check-in/out, transportation to and from Casino by notifying the driver on duty or Dispatch, and provides information regarding the Stay & Play packages.

Essential Functions — An individual in this role must be able to perform the following functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Greets and assists guests with all attention to provide a unique guest experience.

  • Maintains guest reservations in the Lodge computer system.

  • Handles payment of rooms, issues room keys, and gives clear and detailed instructions on our amenities.

  • Operates the multi-line phone system, transmitting/receiving messages for guests.

  • Keeps records of occupied rooms and guest accounts.

  • Completes all required paperwork and forms in a precise, efficient, and timely manner.

  • Maintains a professional appearance at all times.

  • Contributes to the recommendation of Grand Lake Casino entities with friendly and accurate service.

  • Communicates with housekeeping team when rooms are available for cleaning.

  • Maintains and cleans lobby area and employee rest room on a regular basis.

  • Completes assignments with little or no supervision.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or G.E.D required.

  • Customer service and previous hotel or cash handling experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to establish and maintain relationships with fellow team members, management, and guests.

  • Skilled in problem solving and critical thinking.

  • Skilled in the use of Microsoft Suite and Adobe.

  • Ability to communicate professionally.

  • Ability to read, comprehend, and interpret complex written and oral instructions.

Other Requirements — Required to obtain and maintain a Seneca Cayuga tribal gaming license and a state issued I.D. All applicants must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening prior to beginning employment. Must be at least 18 years of age.

Physical Requirements — Position may require standing for entire shifts, up to 40 hours per week; ability to twist, stoop, bend, and use extensive and repetitive hand movements. Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs., ability to stand for extended periods, and the ability to work in a fast paced environment.

Work Environment — Grand Lake Casino is a drug and alcohol-free workplace; Must be able to work in a casino environment which includes high levels of smoke, dust, noise, and bright flashing lights.

Special Working Conditions — Over-time may be required with little or no notice and business may result in employee being unaccompanied for long periods of time.
