Join Dennis’ 7 Dees Garden Center team as Carry Out for a dynamic position supporting staff and customers alike. Our Carry Outs are the backbone of our store, responsible for safely and efficiently loading products into customers’ vehicles, assisting with shipments and deliveries, providing outstanding customer service, and various other tasks and general labor around the garden center which are highly influenced by seasonal factors. This entry level role is a perfect opportunity for those who love staying active, working outdoors, and engaging with customers about plants and gardening. As Carry Out, versatility is key, as no two days will look exactly alike. This seasonal position will be scheduled for 16-40 hours of work per week with potential for full-time, year-round employment.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Safely and efficiently load products into customers’ vehicles
• Provide exceptional, friendly service to all customers
• Water plants and perform basic plant care and maintenance
• Support receivers by unloading shipments and merchandising stock
• Assist Delivery Driver with plant deliveries and installation projects
• Maintain general Garden Center cleanliness and organization

Required Qualifications

• Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds repeatedly throughout the day
• Enjoys physically demanding work and can work outside in all weather conditions
• Ability to push up to 200 pounds with castors (wheeled carts, dollies, etc.)
• Capable of pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, kneeling, crawling, twisting, climbing, and squatting
• General handyman skills a plus but not required
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and staying calm under pressure
• Willingness to learn and be coachable
• Must pass pre-employment drug screening
• Availability on Saturdays and Sundays is required.

Work Schedule and Environment

• Variable schedule with 16-40 hours of work per week, peak hours in Spring.
• Hours of operation 9am-6pm, 7 days a week.
• Must be capable of working outside during all weather conditions.
• This position is located at our Cedar Hills garden center in Portland, OR.

• $18-$20 per hour, dependent upon experience.
