
Douala, Cameroon – September 2025
The Cameroon Institute for Research and Innovation (CIRI) officially launched two major research and innovation projects in Douala aimed at revitalizing youth participation in research and strengthening national research capacity.
The first project, titled Cameroon Student Research Revival Project, seeks to increase student research publication by 50%, targeting over 10,000 students and 2,500 published papers within one year. The second initiative focuses on recruiting and training 100 young researchers, building capacity for existing professionals, and forming a national research network.
The launch event brought together students, researchers, civil society organizations, and development partners. CIRI emphasized its commitment to promoting innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development through research.
The projects are expected to significantly impact Cameroon’s research landscape.
